Our bespoke medicine programme aims to help prospective medical students get started or simply demystify the complex application process.
1. UCAT
Scoring well on the UCAT can be intimidating- it is often the first thing medical admissions panels will look at. Our UCAT programme encompasses an all-in-one solution that has everything you need to score highly in the exam, with no hidden costs or textbooks. At NW we pride ourselves on our tutors themselves- all of which have achieved a top 2% score. Each tutor will be paired with a student. Throughout these 1-1 sessions, a tutor will give in depth guidance to a student, honing in on techniques that will work for them. From teaching the correct technique to drawing up a personalised plan spanning months, NW medical tutors are here to make this difficult process easier.
2. Personal statement
Similarly to the Oxbridge service, a tutor will aim to strengthen and differentiate each student’s individual personal statement. Over the years, our medical tutors have seen hundreds of personal statements for different medical schools, thus gaining great insight into what universities are looking for. They know it well, they know what the admissions board are looking for and they know how to achieve this. This gives NW’s medical tutors an edge, advising a student on how best to tailor their statements to their specific university.
3. Interview
NW provides an extremely comprehensive medical interview programme which is based on what has worked for the TOP medical students across the country. A student will be matched with a top performing medical student at one of their desired universities where they will be taught key topics, fundamental medical ethics and interview technique. Our tutors will help students understand what qualities interviewers are looking for in a medical interview. Realistic mock interviews will be undertaken with an interviewer that a student hasn’t worked with before, to stimulate an authentic interview experience. Written and verbal feedback targeting specific areas to work on will also be available.
